U-turn Moderne

The Moderne style was one of the iconic styles of 1920s or the Art Deco period. Probably the most familiar of Art Deco style to most Americans is the Chrysler building in New York City, but the Normandie Hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico may be one of best examples of the Streamline Moderne style, which is the basis for this table. Walnut and maple are the woods, with the maple highlights setting off the dramatic figure of the walnut.
